My preferred Unity Layout

When it comes to workflows or layout preferences, everyone has an opinion on what’s best. And with Unity there are many options and opinions. I’ll share mine.

As a Unity Developer, you’re going to want to focus your layout on the things that you work with the most. And Unity has great support for customizing your layout to your hearts content. For me, I used the “Tall” layout as a starting point. About the only change I made to this layout was to move the “Game” tab to the bottom of the scene space and add in the “Console” on the bottom with the Game window.

Once you’re satisfied with the layout that suites your needs, it’s easy for you to save this for future projects. On the right side of the Unity Editor window, is the “Layout” dropdown. Click on that and select “Save Layout…” — Give your Layout a name and you’re all set! Have fun and please comment with your layout and why you love it, I’m always on the hunt to learn better ways to do things!
